A bicyclist is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Bridge city. Now, state troopers are seeking information about one of the vehicles that hit the cyclist.
It happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday on Seven Oaks Boulevard near Utah Beach Drive.
According to investigators, an unknown vehicle struck Douglas Prichett and his bicycle before driving away. Shortly afterward, another vehicle, a pickup truck, struck Pritchett. That driver stopped and called authorities.
Prichett, 46, died at the scene. Troopers say his bike had no visible lights.
Investigators say the truck's driver was not impaired and cooperated with the investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the initial crash or may have information about the first vehicle that hit Pritchett and then fled is asked to call Louisiana State Police at 504-471-2775.
