The cold front has blown through and winds have picked up with the first real fall front of the year.

WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone says, "The chill is here to stay."

He forecast cooler conditions for the next several days with wind gusts today reaching 40mph.

"Secure those Halloween decorations before they take flight."

We hit the high for today overnight and will see much colder air by tonight.

"Today stays cool and breezy with highs in the mid 60s. By Thursday and Friday, the weather settles but stays crisp with highs in the upper 60s. Mornings drop into the 40s and 50s," Malone said.

What about Halloween?

"Friday evening looks perfect for trick or treating, cool and clear with temperatures in the 50s and 60s."
