Louisiana’s waterpark Blue Bayou announced it will reopen this summer, however staffing is an issue.
Because of the staffing issue, only Blue Bayou waterpark will reopen on May 22, 2021. Theme park Dixie Landin’ will remain closed.
“Staffing is currently an issue in the entire state of Louisiana, and we are already seeing this as an issue for us as well. So, it is with a heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to open only Blue Bayou Water Park for the 2021 Season,” Blue Bayou officials said in a statement on their website.
Blue Bayou plans to reopen at 100% capacity, which means the water park needs to fill 700 jobs.

The park will honor all season passes and tickets purchased before the park closed due to the pandemic.
