Newell: Blue states are using COVID relief funds to pay for migrants

At the height of the pandemic, President Joe Biden offered up COVID relief funds to help states survive the disaster. So, what's happening with that money now? Some of it is flowing to illegal immigrants.

"Why is it that the funds that weren't spent -- that should've been spent -- for the purposes that they were distributed to these states and cities," WWL host Newell Normand asked.

"How can they just magically wave a magic wand across these funds and make it into something else and nobody seems to know anything about it. Of course, the Biden Administration is not going to do anything about it."

This information came from a FOX News report that found Democrat governors and mayors earmarked at least $517 million from the programs, which generally consisted of providing cash payments to individual illegal immigrants. The funding was from the $1.9 trillion federal COVID-19 stimulus package President Biden signed into law in March 2021, FOX News found.

"This means the Biden Administration directly subsidized ‘undocumented’ immigration under the guise of COVID-19 pandemic relief," a recent report from the Economic Policy Innovation Center stated, pointing to how federal ARP funds were diverted to illegal immigrants in Washington state.

If citizens feel unsafe in downtowns rife with crime they just have to deal with it, whereas migrants get special protections, Newell said, adding that millions and millions of taxpayer dollars are being spent to protect them that isn't being spent to protect citizens.
