As residents of Gordon Plaza protested and waited for delayed offer letters to be distributed, the NOPD Bomb Squad responded to a report of a suspicious brief case inside the lobby around 7pm Tuesday night.
City Hall was evacuated as a precaution.
Homeowners waiting for offer letters to relocate from Gordon Plaza were disappointed to not get their paperwork.
The Bomb Squad soon arrived on scene and determined the case to be safe and did not contain an explosive device.
The entire scene was cleared by 9pm.
NOPD is investigating the incident.
