Natural gas prices in the Permian Basin are plunging toward zero as booming production overwhelms pipeline networks, creating a regional glut of the fuel. Gas in an area of the vast Permian known as Waha traded yesterday for as little as 20- to 70 cents per million British thermal units. That compares with the US benchmark futures contract that’s trading around $5.20 and European prices close to $28. The price collapse illustrates the sharp contrast between bountiful U.S. supplies and Europe’s worsening energy crisis as winter approaches.
It's going to cost you a bit more to watch your favorites on Apple’s streaming service. Apple has increased monthly and annual subscription prices for Apple TV+ and Apple Music. Apple TV now costs $7 a month, up from $5, while Apple Music costs $11, up from 10.
Futures are down after stocks closed sharply higher yesterday. The Dow Industrials added another 417, the NASDAQ rose 93 and the S&P 500 was up 44.
