Louisiana State Police investigate a crash that killed 53-year-old Terry Ralph of Boutte.
The single-car crash happened on US 90 west near Live Oak Boulevard early Tuesday morning.
State police say that Ralph was driving a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck towing an enclosed trailer west on US 90 near Live Oak Boulevard. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet traveled off the roadway to the right and impacted a guardrail before traveling into a drainage canal, where it became partially submerged.
Ralph, who was unrestrained suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Impairment on the part of Ralph is unknown and routine toxicology results are pending.
