Whether it be thanks to her impressive pop music resume, her recent Las Vegas residency or her high-profile legal battle for emancipation from her conservatorship, or perhaps all of it, the results of a new study showed Britney Spears ranked as the most famous Louisiana-grown celebrity.

Spears grew up in Kentwood, La., before becoming a child performer on a 1990s iteration of the Mickey Mouse Club, then reached the heights of pop stardom as a singer, taking the world by storm with her breakthrough #1 single “…Baby One More Time” in 1999 and ruling the charts through the early 2000s.

More recently, she was thrust back into the public eye after some quiet years after news of her struggle to end a legal conservatorship went viral, eventually resulting in Spears being given back control of her life by a judge.

No doubt the public interest in that case was a big factor in Spears topping the list since the analysis employed by LouisianaBets.com measured Google Trends and AhRefs.com Keyword Explorer data.

“Louisiana celebrity was defined as a person who resided in Louisiana in their formative childhood and teenage years for over 10 years,” a news release said.

Behind Spears in the top five: Jared Leto, Reese Witherspoon, Lainey Wilson and Ian Somerhalder.

Lil Wayne, Addison Rae, Frank Ocean, Tyler Perry and NBA YoungBoy rounded out the top 10.

Theo Von, Ellen DeGeneres, DJ Khaled, Zachary Levi and Justin Jefferson made up the rest of the top 15.
