About 2,000 Entergy customers in Jefferson Parish, mainly Gretna and Harvey, lost power Monday evening.
Entergy says a utility pole broke, and most power was restored around 6:30. Some other areas have an estimated restoration time of 8:30 p.m.
The power company also reports around 1,100 customers are without power in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans. Restoration is estimated around 8 p.m.
This is after several thousand more lost power in Gretna and Algiers this morning because an animal shorted out some equipment.
That power outage was corrected by one o'clock this afternoon.
