The median pay package for CEOs of the biggest U.S. companies reached $14.7 million in 2021, setting a sixth-straight annual record, as strong profits and robust markets boosted pay. The median salary, bonus and other cash compensation was $4.1 million.
We know that most things are more expensive these days. One thing that’s way more expensive is airline tickets. They’ve shot up 25%, the largest jump since the St. Louis Fed began tracking in 1989.
Regardless of soaring prices, we don’t appear to be hesitating to break out our credit cards and book a trip. A recent Bank of America survey shows spending at airlines and travel agencies is up a whopping 60% from a year ago. Travel experts say you can save money by using a travel agent, being flexible, planning ahead and redeeming points or miles.
