Business: Domestic air travel still down

Even with restrictions lifted and vaccinations increasing, a lot of us are still a bit skittish to fly. Adobe Analytics says last month, Americans spent about $5 billion on domestic flights, down 20% from May of 2019. And according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics poll, 29% surveyed say they don’t feel safe flying, due to being in close proximity with other travelers. But, 57% would feel safe staying at a hotel.

Brent crude oil could top $100 a barrel next year as the world emerges from the pandemic. So says Bank of America, which notes that global demand will outpace supply in 2022 as vaccines and OPEC+ supply curbs keep supply and demand out of whack.   The bank’s analysts say “there’s plenty of pent-up oil demand ready to be unleashed.” Brent has jumped 37% this year to over $73 a barrel.
