Record gas prices are rearing their ugly head again, and at an especially bad time for commuters and travelers. Just weeks before Memorial Day weekend, the launch of the summer travel season, Triple-A says the national average for a gallon of gas popped to $4.37, topping the record of $4.33 set in early March. The latest spike is powered by last week’s news that European Union leaders were calling for a ban on imported Russian oil.
Big changes may be coming to Netflix a lot sooner than expected. The New York Times says the streaming company plans to launch a lower-priced, ad-supported tier and crack down on password sharing before the end of the year. Last month, Netflix Co-CEO Reed Hastings said such moves were being considered, but suggested they would happen over the next year or two. The plans are being sped up as Netflix continues to lose hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
