The NFL season is under way…and sports betting operators including DraftKings, FanDuel, MGM and Caesars could be on the cusp of setting betting records. A record 46.6 million adults plan to bet on the 2022 NFL season, up 3% from last year, according to the American Gaming Association. One major reason for that is the increase in states that offer legal sports betting. 31 states, plus Washington, D.C., offer some form of legalized sports betting, compared to this time last year when just 22 states, plus D.C., offered legal wagering.
Futures are up after stocks closed higher yesterday. The Dow Industrials gained 193, the Nasdaq rose 70 and the S&P 500 added 26.
