Business: Stronger economy recovery could accelerate oil demand

The International Air Transport Association says travel restrictions that require proof of Covid-19 vaccines or negative tests should be lifted once the pandemic is under control. The Association says the measures may be necessary as temporary arrangements while we go through the crisis, but once we’re through it, the restrictions should be permanently removed. Airlines, hotel companies and others in the tourism industry are calling on government officials to set standards for digital health passports.

The Energy Information Administration says a stronger global economy this year is set to accelerate oil demand growth to 5.5 million barrels per day, raising its demand growth forecast by 200,000 barrels per day. Next year, global oil demand is set to rise by another 3.7 million barrels per day over 2021.


In a year in which Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings lost $4 billion and employee salaries were cut by 20%  CEO Frank Del Rio’s total pay more than doubled to over $36 million.
