Are you ready for more football? The next few weeks will busy for the city, with two bowl games coming up.

It starts with the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

"The Jacksonville State Gamecocks and Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns returning to the Superdome," said Jay Cicero, President and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.

Cicero says don't be confused -- Jacksonville State is in Alabama, not Jacksonville, Florida. Situated between Birmingham and Atlanta, it does not take that long to drive from their to New Orleans, so Cicero says he expects the Gamecocks should bring in a good contingent fans, and we know the Ragin' Cajuns are no strangers to the city.

"Which is what the purpose of the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl is," Cicero said to WWL's Newell Normand, "is to have a great regional bowl matchup prior to Christmas bringing visitors to New Orleans during a traditionally slow time."

And in three weeks on New Year's Day, the Washington Huskies and Texas Longhorns meet up in the Sugar Bowl.

The Sugar Bowl this year is a semi-final in the College Football Playoffs. The winner of the Sugar Bowl will take on the Rose Bowl winner, either Michigan or Alabama, in Houston on January 8.
