NOPD says a wellness check in New Orleans East Tuesday morning led them to a homicide.
Police say there were asked around 9:15 a.m. to check up on a man who lived in a home in the 4700 block of Bonita Drive in the Plum Orchard subdivision. The caller said they had not seen the resident in some time.
Seventh District officer arrived and found the man unresponsive.
New Orleans EMS arrived and confirmed the man had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
