Can last-minute attack ads make a difference?

It's the final week of the campaign for mayor of New Orleans, and more attack ads are hitting the airwaves trying to erode support for front-runner Helena Moreno. Is there enough time left for it to work?

"It's going to take the equivalent of moving a mountain to change the results that are forthcoming," said political analyst Clancy DuBos.

Last minute  campaign ad blitzes may not be as effective as they used to since a decent chunk of the electorate not only has made up its mind. Even if they changed now, it's too late.

"We've seen over 38,000 votes cast early, by either in-person early voting or mail ballot," DuBos said, and that could be 20 to 30 percent of the final tally.
