A fight on the edge of the French Quarter and Central Business Distict led to a shooting that left one man hospitalized with a leg wound.
According to an New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Thursday on Canal Street near its intersection with Carondelet and Bourbon Streets.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, the suspect fired a shot during the fight. A bullet struck a man in the thigh. The victim ran one block up Canal Street before collapsing. The victim remains in a hospital Wednesday morning.
