New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell went to Mexico for a summit today.
Her office says she left for Mexico City yesterday to meet with other leaders about "building a more sustainable and economically thriving New Orleans."
The administrations says topics at the Bloomberg CityLab 2024 gathering include "climate resilience, infrastructure, and urban innovation."
Hundreds of other mayors and officials from around the globe are attending.
The event website says, "Bloomberg CityLab was founded on the principle that important innovation is happening at the local level and that global impact can be achieved when cities share solutions."
The statement did not say when Cantrell was coming back.
The conference agenda shows it is over Wednesday evening.
