Organizers of the effort to remove New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell say they are moving forward despite nearly 40,000 petition signatures being deemed invalid.
They are speaking out a day after the recall was derailed.
"We are going to look into all of our legal options to see what we have available," Recall Cochair Eileen Carter told WWL's Newell Normand.
Chairman Belden Batiste said they still don't know why Registrar Sandra Wilson disqualified tens of thousands of signatures.
"We just wanted to know the process. We just wanted to know the rules, and we didn't hear nothing from Sandra," he insisted. "We want to know why she kicked certain signatures out... She said it was going to be a fair process."
They would not outline their next legal steps in challenging Wilson's conclusion, saying it was not in their best interests at this time.
