New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell offers her view on the "state of the city" this afternoon.
Crime, blight, infrastructure; these are area the mayor is likely to mention as challenges the city must overcome.
"Of course, the one everybody knows about is crime. That's still the major thing," said political analyst Errol LaBorde.
LaBorde says the mayor could help her image by returning to her roots as a neighborhood activist.
"Let's look at our communities, let's look at our neighborhoods, and let's champion those, and really spend some time traveling around those and not elsewhere," he said.
LaBorde said he's yet to hear the mayor explain how international "sister cities" help New Orleans, and would like to see more focus on communities.
