New Orleans Police say gunfire in the Uptown area sent a man to the hospital Wednesday night.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 3200 block of Coliseum Street," Senior Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in an email.
It happened around 10:30pm.
"Initial reports show a male gunshot wound victim arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance."
Witnesses say the male shot was actually trying to stop a car burglar.
The 47-year-old victim had reportedly confronted the car burglar who was breaking into his car.
