The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus takes to the streets of Faubourg Marigny and the French Quarter this weekend.
"This Chewbacchus parade is something to behold, it really is," said Arthur Hardy with the Times Picayune Mardi Gras Guide.
Hardy says it is amazing what the do-it-yourself designers can come up with.
"Crowds are enormous, the artistry, it's several thousand walkers, it will take two and a half hours to pass. All unique, hand-made throws," said Hardy. "It's just really, really cool."
Things get even busier next weekend with the Krewe of Boheme, Krewe de Vieux, and Krewe D'elusion in the Marigny and French Quarter, Krewe of Nefertiti in New Orleans East, and the krewes of Titans, Bilge and Poseidon in Slidell.
