UPDATE, 9:35 a.m.: Causeway police have reopened the bridge with some restrictions.
According to the Causeway's website, only the left lanes on both spans are closed, forcing drivers to travel in the right lane. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles per hour.
Officials say drivers should expect delays until the fog lifts.
ORIGINAL STORY: If you had plans to cross the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway this morning, you'll have to make adjustments to your schedule.
According to the Causeway's website, the bridge is closed "due to poor visibility." Right now, visibility in the area is at or below one-sixteenth of a mile.
Officials did not provide a timetable for when the bridge would reopen.
"Updates to follow," was the message posted to the Causeway website.
