Authorities stopped letting traffic onto the southbound lanes of the Causeway just before 5:30am today.
"Due to an accident, the Causeway - Southbound is closed," Causeway Police posted.
A WWL listener texted the radio station, "Causeway bridge southbound about a mile past the toll at a complete stop."
Crews reopened the bridge just after 6:00am.
