The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred today in near the intersection of Josephine and Willow Streets that left one person dead.
At about 5:33 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location.
Upon arrival, officers located a male gunshot wound victim.
The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
