It was a wild scene early this Easter morning starting on Carrollton Avenue in Uptown New Orleans and ending on Claiborne.
Witnesses say a man crashed his car into an Exxon gas station.
It was then discovered the driver had been shot.
"According to investigators, police were called to the 3700 block of South Claiborne Avenue on a report of a shooting shortly after 2:20," NOPD Sgt. Barry Fletcher said. "New Orleans EMS transported the adult victim to hospital."
Witnesses describe a wild car chase starting near Carrollton and Earhart with one driver chasing the other and shooting at him as they raced through the streets.
The wounded man suffered multiple gunshot wounds before crashing into the gas station.
The shooter got away.
It was initially unclear of the injured man fired any shots at the other driver.
