Cops have arrested two people in a child rape and pornography case north of the lake.
"An adult female produced and distributed images/videos of child sexual abuse material... involving a toddler in St. Tammany Parish," according to Attorney General Liz Murrill's Office.
The Slidell woman and a Mississippi man now face a string of charges and may have additional victims as well.
"47-year-old Lacy Marie Amedio, of Northam Drive in Slidell, was arrested."
The investigation began with a cybertip.
Police were able to use the video of the toddler being raped to identify suspects, saying the woman produces the video at the request of a Mississippi man. They also say she produced child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of the assault of at least one other child.
"Agents identified the reported female (Amedio) as well as the child(ren) involved. Further investigation determined that Amedio committed sex acts upon at least (1) child as well as produced CSAM involving this child and at least one (1) other. Amedio then electronically distributed the CSAM content to another party, identified as Corey Dewayne Monk."
The Walnut Grove, Mississippi man is also facing charges.
Amedio is charged with two counts of first degree rape of a child, four counts of sexual battery of a child, production of child sexual abuse material of a child and more.
Monk faces principal to first degree rape and additional charges.
"Amedio was issued a bond of $2,000,000, while Monk’s bond information is currently unknown. The investigation remains ongoing."
Investigators did not say how Amedio allegedly found the toddlers to rape or if she was related to them.
