Cops are investigating after late night gunfire on the Westbank injured a child.
"Just after 11:00 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers arrived on scene to find a juvenile gunshot wound victim being treated by EMS," NOPD Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said.
Detectives say the shooting was not intentional.
"This incident has been determined to be accidental in nature."
Looney did not offer any further details on if it was the child or someone else who accidentally fired the gun, wounding the juvenile.
It happened in the 3500 block of General DeGaulle Drive.
