The NOPD is investigating a shooting that left a child injured in the Lower Ninth Ward. Police say it happened Tuesday around 8:39 p.m.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 1300 block of Lizardi Street. When they arrived, they discovered a male child suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS.
As WWLTV reports, 2-year-old Denali Crawford was sitting on his mother’s lap inside the car when shots rang out. The mother got out of the car and attempted to run for cover with her son when she noticed a bullet grazed his leg.
