The Coast Guard airlifted a crewmember from an offshore supply vessel Wednesday some 11 miles off Southwest Pass, Louisiana.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans command center watch standers received a report at around 8am this morning from the offshore supply vessel Brandon Bordelon that a 50-year-old male crewmember suffered an injury to his leg.
Sector New Orleans watch standers diverted a Coast Guard Station Venice Response Boat and crew to assist.
The boat crew arrived on scene, moved the crewmember aboard their vessel, and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Coast Guard Station Venice.
EMS transported him to Ochsner Medical Center Westbank Campus in Gretna, Louisiana.
The crewmember was last reported in stable condition.
