Police say a local physician sexually abused at least two of his patients.
“A woman contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to report her doctor, Keith Hickey, had touched her inappropriately during one of her appointments,” Lieutenant Suzanne Carboni said in a news release.
She says the STPSO Special Victims Unit is investigating.
“The victim told detectives that during an appointment, Hickey told her to disrobe and then began touching her breast and vaginal area while making inappropriate comments.”
She said that a second victim came forward to report a similar incident.
“This victim told detectives that during an appointment, Hickey made sexual advances towards her while attempting to lower her pants and put his hands up her shirt.”
Police arrested the 63-year-old doctor today.
Deputies booked him into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of sexual battery, attempted sexual battery, battery and assault.
“This is an ongoing investigation and anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Hickey is asked to contact the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 898-2341.”
