The New Orleans Police Department says 26-year-old Max Alexander Dobbs, wanted in connection with a number of rapes, is in a jail cell in Baton Rouge.
"Max Alexander Dobbs is incarcerated in East Baton Rouge Parish," according to Sgt. Barry Fletcher with NOPD. "However, he is still wanted in New Orleans and he has not yet been booked here."
Fletcher says NOPD is asking for help in identifying any victims they may not yet know about.
"He is also being investigated for additional sex crimes in New Orleans with victims who either never reported the crime or who did report the crime but were unable to identify him at the time," said Fletcher.
NOPD wants anyone with information to call the Special Victims Unit at (504) 658-5523 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP).
Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
