Police say they tracked down and apprehended a man who threatened the life of a delivery driver.
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office says it happened near the intersection of LA 24 (Main Street) and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
"Patrol Division responded to reports of a disturbance, when Deputies learned that a firearm had been pointed at a delivery driver," 1st Lt. Blake Tabor said in a news release.
He explained that the victim gave them a detailed description of the gunman and the weapon.
"Pha Cloud Khamsay, 19, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges."
Tabor says the traffic stop also turned up the gun and other illegal items the suspect from Gray, Louisiana had in his possession.
"He was booked on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Tobacco by a Person Under 21. Khamsay remains jailed on a $5,000 bond."
Sheriff Soignet said, “This incident is another example of how reported information can have a positive impact in our community. I am proud to work with such a tremendous group of motivated men and women, who dedicate their lives to making our community a safer place.”
