The New Orleans City Council begins budget hearings today, and they still have to figure out just how short they are coming up at the end of this year.
City Council Vice President Helena Moreno, now mayor-elect, says they can't seem to get just one answer from the current mayor.
"Imagine being on the city council and you have a table in front of you with different people from the same administration giving you different numbers," Moreno told WWL's Newell Normand and Dave Cohen. "Which is the reason why I decided to bring in Mike Waguespack who's the State Legislative Auditor."
The council should get the auditor's results today.
Moreno said not only could they be coming up $100 million dollars or more short this year, they may start off next year $20 million in the hole.
