Covington Police are asking for the public's help in finding 35-year-old Jonathan Lee Richardson. Police say Richardson shot and killed a man Friday night near North Columbia Street and West 33rd Avenue.
"At approximately 8:50 PM, The Covington Police Department responded to reports of shots being fired in the area," the department said in a news release. "Upon officers’ arrival, evidence was located and officers also discovered vehicles damaged in the shooting. While officers were on the scene of the shooting, there were no reports of anyone being injured."
Police say later in the night, investigators learned that a man was shot during the incident. The victim went to his girlfriend's house in Mandeville, where he died from his injury.
"The Covington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division took over the investigation and was able to develop a suspect in this shooting," police said. Police identified him as Jonathan Lee Richardson, a resident of unincorporated Covington.
