A man is dead after a crash early this morning.
"Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section are investigating a traffic accident that left a 46-year-old male dead," Officer Garry Flot said.
It happened on the I-10 Service Road before Mayo Boulevard in New Orleans East.
"At approximately 2:20 am, the driver (31-year-old male) of a black four door Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on the I-10 Service Road when he struck a bicyclist (46-year-old male) that was also traveling eastbound on the I-10 Service Road."
EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the 46-year-old male dead.
"The accident remains under investigation. Blood and alcohol tests are pending."
