As Hurricane Francine comes on shore, a Jefferson Parish community is now under a mandatory curfew.
Grand Isle's curfew is effective until further notice. Mayor David Camardelle made that announcement at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Camardelle, Grand Isle police officers will be patrolling the town and enforcing the curfew.
Grand Isle is under a hurricane warning ahead of Francine's landfall, with the area expected to receive hurricane-force winds throughout Wednesday evening.
