After being acquitted at his federal tax fraud trial, Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams now joins the law firm that defended him in that trial.
In a statement released Monday, the Schonekas, Evans, McGoey, and McEachin law firm announced that Williams will handle civil litigation at the firm, including commercial disputes, complex personal injury matters, and trials while doing double duty as the District Attorney for Orleans Parish.
“After years of running my own law practice, I am excited to join the experienced, talented lawyers at the Schonekas Firm,” Jason Williams said.
“In my 20 years of practice, I have been impressed by the quality of their work, and I have experienced firsthand the Firm’s dedication to its clients,” said Williams, who was recently acquitted on a ten-count federal indictment defended by Firm partners Billy Gibbens and Ian Atkinson.
Managing Partner Kyle Schonekas said that “Jason Williams is a dynamic litigator, and we believe he will bring a lot of value to high-stakes civil cases in the New Orleans area.”
