NOPD reports someone robbed businesses in the French Quarter in the middle of the day Friday and Saturday.
It was just after noon on Saturday when a robber hit in the 300 block of Royal Street.
That happened just feet from the NOPD 8th District Headquarters.
"The victim was working at a business when the suspect came into the location. The suspect went behind the counter and demanded property out of the register, stating he was armed with a firearm," according to an initial police report.
The robber then ran away toward Canal Street.
A day earlier, a similar crime occurred just blocks away, in the 500 block of St. Peter Street,
"The suspect entered the store, pressed a hard metal object into the victims back and demanded the money from the cash register. The victim complied and gave the suspect $500 in cash."
The robber also ran out toward Canal Street.
That was shortly after 2:00pm.
