N.O. church sex abuse: Deadline to file compensation claim is today by 5pm
Victims of sexual abuse by New Orleans Catholic Church priests have until 5 p.m. today to file a compensation claim against the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
The deadline or ‘bar date’ to file a clergy sex abuse claim is March 1, 10 months after the Archdiocese filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy over a landslide of sex abuse allegations and lawsuits.
Victims have until 5 p.m. today to file their claim with the archdiocese or they could lose their right to compensation if they miss today’s deadline. The Archdiocese of New Orleans will review the claims. Those approved will receive compensation.
