New Orleans Police Detectives are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred near the intersection of Broad and St. Bernard Avenues in the City’s Seventh Ward.
At around 8:25 p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting at the location.
Upon arrival, officers found one unknown male victim suffering with a gunshot wounds near the intersection of Duels Street and North Broad Avenue.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Soon after, officers were alerted to another victim, a 25-year-old male, suffering with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of Bruxelles Street and North Broad Avenue.
He was transported to the hospital by NOEMS and is in critical condition.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
