A New Orleans Police lieutenant, recently demoted from captain, has been suspended without pay for 120 days, the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.
The suspension is the maximum allowed under civil service rules.
The suspension is the result of an internal NOPD investigation into allegations of double-dipping involving paid off-duty security details. The Orleans District Attorney's office is also investigating.
Richardson was the commander of the NOPD Third District until her demotion earlier this month. That district service Lakeview, Mid-City, and Gentilly.
Richardson previously served as head of the Public Integrity Bureau and also headed the NOPD's recruitment division for a time.
