The New Orleans Saints suffered their third straight loss on Sunday, falling to the Seattle Seahawks 44-13. What will it take for the Saints to right the ship? One analyst says, the Saints veterans need to step up and be leaders.
"This team does not look prepared," NFL analyst Mike Detillier said to WWL's Tommy Tucker.
Detillier says the Saints' propensity to commit fouls and their special teams woes signs of that unpreparedness. According to Detillier, these Saints resemble the Black-and-Gold squads from the franchise's early years.
"This is what the years of not selecting well personnel-wise looks like," Detillier said.
Still, Detillier says the locker room has enough experience in it to have prevented this disastrous start from happening.
"The leaders in that locker room have to take control of this situation--where this isn't acceptable here," Detillier said. "Team leaders have to step up and say, 'Okay, guys. We cannot accept this any more.'"
Detillier believes the Saints have the talent turn the season around.
"Some teams when you're talented, you find a way to win, and other teams find a way to lose," Detillier said.
