Efforts to save Thomas’s life were performed but he was pronounced dead when those efforts proved unsuccessful.

Thomas’s son is Devin White, a linebacker in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a former standout at LSU.

White posted about his father’s death the day after his passing on Facebook.

Thomas was awaiting trial on federal charges and had been brought to Natchitoches on October 14 by the U.S. Marshals Service. He passed away on November 10. Autopsy results to determine the specific cause of death are pending.
