What's next for the Superdome and Smoothie King Center, now that the Taylor Swift euphoria has died down? They aren't slowing down.
The Lil' Weezyana fest -- Lil' Wayne's annual festival -- has outgrown its old venue and is moving up, said Alex Bowen, Vice President of Live Entertainment for ASM Global, the company that manages the Smoothie King Center and Caesars Superdome
"This time its actually moving to the Smoothie King Center. Previously it had been at Champions Square," said Bowen. "The show sold out in about an hour after putting it on sale so that should be a really big weekend for us."
Bowen says they have a string of comedy shows from the likes of ventriloquist Jeff Dunham at the 85 South comedy tour, then another big concert:
"Wrapping up the month of November for us we're hosting Justin Timberlake on Monday, November 25th," he said, "which we are pretty excited about."
And in the coming year, the Smoothie King Center hosts Mary J. Blige, Master P, and Andrea Bocelli.
As for the Superdome, no concerts are on the calendar, but there is a little something called Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
