Cold weather doesn’t keep the killing from happening in New Orleans.
NOPD reports there were two murders about an hour apart from each other in separate districts.
The first took place on the intersection of Chef Menteur and Dale Street in a double shooting just after 7pm.
A man was shot in the head and a woman with him was also shot.
An arriving EMS unit pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Across town about an hour later near the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Magnolia Street police found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
EMS pronounced one victim dead at the scene, the other victim was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Both incidents are under investigation and no other information has been released.
The shootings come just hours after the New Orleans Police department swore in a new police chief.
