Golf driving range and entertainment complex Drive Shack is considering walking away from its multi-million dollar golf complex at the site of the former Times-Picayune site in New Orleans.
As The Times-Picayune reports, the stalled construction project could leave behind millions of dollars in unpaid construction bills and leave the site undeveloped which currently stands as an eyesore on Howard Avenue along Interstate 10.
Before the pandemic, Drive Shack was touted as an entertainment center that blended, a high-tech golf driving range, restaurants, and a bar.
According to Nola.com, in March the company that owns Drive Shack lost $37 million in 2021, adding to a three-year revenue loss of nearly $160 million which has stalled Drive Shack’s plans to expand into New Orleans.
