
A driver traveling on I-10 westbound was shot early Monday morning.
Dramatic details released from the NOPD describe the seriousness of the shooting.
The NOPD says shortly after 12:41 a.m. they got the call of a man shot who was driving westbound past the Superdome near mile marker 233 just before the Norman C. Francis overpass.
According to an NOPD report, while the victim was driving, suspects in another vehicle cut him off and opened fire. The victim then struck the guard rail and the suspect vehicle overturned. Police say the suspects then climbed out of the overturned vehicle and fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. His condition is unknown at this time.
Police are gathering evidence as the investigation is ongoing.
