The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says a recent drug arrest revealed what may have been a family-run business.
Following last week's arrest of Allen Tate Jr. on drug distribution charges, officials in the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office say they received information that Monique Sagona, Tate's mother, was planning on selling a large quantity of narcotics, with Tate's assistance from behind bars.
Detectives obtained a search warrant, and the sheriff's office says that search yielded LSD, cocaine, psychedelic mushrooms, heroin, THC vapes, marijuana, and 36 counterfeit Adderall pills suspected to contain fentanyl.
"This is not the kind of family business we want operating in our parish," said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith. "The detectives with our Narcotics Division are dedicated to getting illegal drugs out of neighborhoods. They do not simply make arrests, they continue to work cases until they uncover and arrests all individuals involved."
